Retail training at Better Together is an award winning project offering free training in Certificate II in Retail Services.
Better Together is proud to be part of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work project which is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland government.
Better Together’s registered training organisation, Designer Life is at 71 King Street Caboolture right across from Kmart in Caboolture, their training café which are open to the public and are run by the students, are fantastic training components that will help students develop their skills in a comfortable environment before they do their thirty hours of vocational placement with a local business.
Amie Storer, Better Together manager said, “This program is especially beneficial to those struggling to find employment or that already have a Certificate III or higher qualification but may need to study in another field to find employment”
Better Outcomes participants will continue to have loyal and dedicated support including professional development workshops that address vital job ready skills such as:
- Tapping into the hidden job market
- Interview preparation
- Assistance in applying for work
- Resume & cover letter writing
- Personal & professional development etc
The program also supports the participants in addressing any personal issues and barriers which may have impacted on them finding employment in the past such as housing issues, paperwork anxiety, lack of confidence etc.
The 2019 program had some fantastic results:
- 63% of Retail SQW participants have found employment
- 78% of Retail SQW participants completed their studies
The next course starts on the 27 July 2020 and ends on 16 October 2020. We are looking for interested participants. The course is 12 weeks long and includes 30 hours vocational placement.
Better Together’s goal is to empower unemployed community members with a qualification and in doing so, offer local businesses highly skilled employees who are ready to work.
