New Courses Start March 2019
Better Together is a pround part of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work which helps eligible Queenslanders develop skills, gain qualifications and provide direct assistance to enter and stay in the workforce.
The initiative offers seven programs that deliver training to improve skills and employment opportunities. The programs focus on supporting young people (including those in and transitioned from out-of-home care), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, mature-age job seekers, women re-entering the workforce, veterans and ex-service personnel and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Better Together’s Skilling Queensland for Work program is a state award winning training program. Winning “Community Initiative Training award” in 2017
Better Together offers two programs under the Initiative
Better Outcomes: Program for participants to undertake a Certificate II in Retail and Cafe Operations.
Better Pathways: Program for participants to undertake a Certificate III in Individual Support
Both programs work on professional development workshops that address vital job ready skills such as:
- cover letter writing
- interview preparation
- Colour personality training
The program also supports the participants in addressing any personal issues and barriers which may have impacted on them finding employment in the past such as housing issues, paperwork anxiety, lack of confidence etc.
Better Together’s goal is to empower unemployed community members with a qualification and in doing so, offer local businesses highly skilled employees who are ready to work.
