Committee Profiles

President: Barb Eccles

Barb’s passion is to work with individuals and their communities to create a better future. To use her skills in advocating and communication to assist in making positive changes for those in our community who are disengaged and vulnerable.    

She has 26 years of management and VET sector experience in various service industries which includes the following – currently working for Skill Centred she has had previous experience with Noosa Community Training Centre, Sunny Kids, Careers Australia plus many more.

Treasurer: Luisa Garcia

Luisa is a professional photographer, with many years’ experience. She has also been involved with many different community initiatives over the years, and her experience and dedication to marginalised individuals is highly valued. Luisa has been involved with the Woodford Folk Festival, and Planting Festival and her marketing skills are invaluable for growing the business and moving forward

Secretary: Amie Storer

Amie is a passionate staff member of Better Together. working for the organisation for over 12 years she assists the committee in guiding the organisation to stay true to its values and principles. Amie knows the local community well and has a bachelor’s degree in Business and is also studying to be an SRV trainer and educator.

General Member: Paul Dunne

Paul has worked as a non-traditional psychologist, embarking on a journey to find techniques that worked and techniques that empower individuals.  He consistently looks to push the boundaries and have integrated the evidence-based practice of traditional Psychology, along with concepts out of Quantum physics and a spirituality that reflects the teachers of old.  In 2019 he made a choice to work as a Holistic Counsellor and Coach and surrendered his registration as a Psychologist. He believes integrity matters anywhere, anytime, everywhere, all of the time

General Member: Wendy McCracken

Wendy is the other newest member of the Better Together board, she is a registered nurse and works at the Caboolture Hospital. Wendy has a passion for advocating for people with a disability. Married to the late Matt McCracken, Wendy understands firsthand the challenges faced in our community for people with a disability. Wendy is excited to be a part of the committee and help guide Better Together into the future.

General Member: Melynda Morris

Melynda has many years of experience in the not-for-profit sector and also has experience in social enterprises. She is currently working as an indigenous business officer for supply nation she is passionate about seeing the rights of everyone upheld. Melynda understands the needs of Better Together cohorts and their family members. Melynda hopes to use her experience and knowledge to assist Better Together to continue to be a great organisation.
