Better Futures Program

Thank you for visiting our website and expressing interest in our Better Futures program!

Engage in hands-on training and assessment alongside industry experts from a renowned Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and earn a nationally recognised certificate/qualification in Tourism & Hotel Operations.

The Better Futures program is a no cost training program designed to support under-skilled and under-employed individuals in Brisbane North to obtain a Certificate II qualification alongside 1:1 support and professional development workshops. The program is aimed to support participants towards securing long-term employment.

• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
• Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG)
• Espresso Basics Training
• Housekeeping Practical Training
• Bartending Training (18+)
• Professional Development Workshops
• 1:1 Support & Mentoring
• Resume & Cover Letter Assistance
• Industry Work Experience
• Interview with Industry Professionals
• Fun & Interactive Learning Environment
• Salary Incentive for Graduates (up to $20,000)


To be eligible participants must be:

• Australian or New Zealand residents (or hold relevant visa with work permits and pathways to residency)
• Living on the Northside of Brisbane
• Aged 15 years or older and not enrolled in school
• Not currently enrolled in any tertiary study (University, TAFE or college)

You must also:
• Require personalised assistance to overcome barriers to learning & employment OR
• Have been unemployed for 6 months or longer OR
• Work less than 25 hours per week

Please kindly note our program is unavailable for international students.

Eligibility criteria is determined by the Department of Youth Justice, Employment, Small Business & Training.
