We are pleased to share with you that our next intake for the Better Futures program will begin on Tuesday 5th September 2023 and Monday 9th October 2023. Enrolments are NOW OPEN!

The Better Futures program is a no cost training program designed to support under-skilled and under-employed members of our community in obtaining a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate II in Tourism & Hotel Operations) alongside 1:1 support and professional development workshops towards long-term employment.

The Better Futures Program will not cost you anything, nor do you require to access any individual government funding. In addition, through personalised support, we help you overcome any barriers hindering your path to securing employment. Our program is funded by the Queensland Government through the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.

Participants are provided with the training to learn how to provide tourist information, how to provide customer service and understanding conflict resolution. They also learn the roles and responsibilities of working in hotel reception, tourism, housekeeping and hospitality.

Additionally, we provide Personal Development workshops that cover various essential topics such as resume and cover letter writing, accessing the hidden job market, interview techniques, financial literacy, building resilience, and more. Our aim is to equip participants with a holistic skill set that empowers them to succeed in their chosen career path.

Our professional development workshops include a wide range of topics, including:

  • Resume Building
  • Job Searching
  • Building Resilience
  • Volunteering & Work Experience
  • Technology Basics

One standout feature of the program is a session with a Personal Stylist who will help them choose suitable clothing for an interview according to their personal style and their body shape. Better Together will then provide participants with a professionally styled, suitable interview and/or work-ready outfit.

Additionally, upon graduation, participants who secure work in the Moreton Bay Region, become eligible for up to a $20,000 salary incentive to further boost their career prospects. This incentive is very attractive to potential employers looking for suitably trained staff.
